Island of the sun, nice people and a good party atmosphere. It's the perfect combination which becomes Ibiza the music's capital of the world and unforgettable destination.
The island of Ibiza and Formentera are known as "Las Pitiusas" and the island of Ibiza is called "the white island" by the predominance of their houses, mostly white. This Mediterranean island has an area of 572Km2. Its highest point, called Sa Talaiassa (or Sa Talaia), is 475 metres above sea level.

The island is well known around the world for its parties and nightclubs. Most famous nightclubs are Space, Privilege Ibiza (the biggest discotheque in the world), Amnesia or Es Paradís. The nightlife, the wonderful beaches, the history and culture of Ibiza, provide, with beauty and health centers, the perfect place to take care of yourself, relax and also have fun. But Ibiza has more to offer. The interior of the island is full of little and cute villages and rambling houses, relaxing natural environments.

It's important to mention some places of interest like Puig des Molins, a huge cemetery of Carthaginian origin with more than 400 graves. There is an impressive contrast between the port area (a very exclusive zone) and some other points of the island which are considered like "hippies".


Ibiza's best beaches:
Crystalline water with fine sand or rocky coves, Ibiza counts with numerous beaches where you can find the peace and fun you were looking for. There are options for all styles and tastes:
Playa de las Salinas and Playa d'en Bossa are the most popular ones, where take place the most crowded parties each summer.
Figueretas is the most little and central beach of Ibiza. On the other hand, the beach Es Cavallet is the official nudist beach and it's perfect to go for a walk. In the list of the most crowded beaches, also appears Cala Jondal, where you can find the famous "Blue Marlin", Cala Tarida and Cala d'Hort. In the other side Es Canar, counts also with a famous hippy street market and Cala San Vicente. Deck chairs must to be paid in most of the beaches, but it worth it as you will enjoy of the beautiful landscape while you get sun.

To break from deck chairs and baths in the sea, you can also go to take a boat ride around the island or an excursion to the neighboring island of Formentera (45 minutes from Ibiza) where you will enjoy bicycle rides, and practice cycling and climb.

Other places:
In Ibiza, you will also find warm scenery full of mountains, vegetations of Pines, Olives and Almonds trees. On the way to the coast, you will see the cave of Can Marça, these are big underground grottes decorated with colored lights. Another option is to visit the old town of the capital, known as Dalt Vila, which is full of churches and museums. This area is considered Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO and counts with her own Museum of Contemporary Art and the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves.
If you are in the island, you will also visit other towns like Santa Eulalia where you will find a beautiful chapel, or San Antonio where you can enjoy the most beautiful sunsets of Ibiza.

Craftwork:
The craftwork in Ibiza is varied. People work with the wood, stone, silver costume jewelry and white clothes typical from Ibiza, brand style for many years.
 
Gastronomy:
The traditional cuisine of Ibiza is varied, Mediterranean, original and delicious. The most popular dishes are la burrida de ratjada(cooked fish with chopped almond); the cooked lobster from Ibiza with squids and herb liqueur; or the guisat de marisc, a delicious fish dish with seafood.
It's also popular the Arroz de Matanzas, soggy rice prepared with products from the famous slaughter, the Sofrit Pagés; festive dish elaborated with meats, soft spicy sausage butifarró and potatoes, which are also typical products of the gastronomy of Ibiza.
The confectionery counts with a great variety. The Flaó (cheese cake with herbs), the Orelletes and the Buñuelos are the sweets par excellence in Ibiza, without forget the delicious Greixonera elaborated with ensaimada and milk .

The biggest island of the Pitiusas has a long tradition of making liqueurs. La Frígola, the herbs from Ibiza and the Palo are separated with autochthonous herbs macerated with anisette. This results a sweet liqueur with herby aromas.
